This is a restrained type of joint and can be used forFiber-glass Pipes. It is also known as Butt & Wrap Joint. The lamination joint is used to join plain-ended Pipe or Fittings sections. The process of a lamination joint is preparation of the pipe surfaces followed by of application of specific thickness of resin impregnated glass reinforcement is wrapped over a specific length around the pipes to be joined. The thickness and bond area of the lamination are related to diameter and pressure rating of the Pipe.
The adhesive bonded joint consists of a Conical socket and Conical spigot or Tapered Bell and Tapered spigot. This joint allows for an accurate assembly length with narrow tolerance and may be used for aboveand underground pipe systems. Adhesive mixture is applied on prepared outer side of spigot and inside the socket and then spigot is pulled inside socket using come along jacks.Once the required length of spigot is inserted into the socket, allow the joint to cure itself. For joint strength, Wrap heating blanket around the joint at required temperature and time.
This is an unrestrained type of jointwhich is used for the installation of long runs of buried pipe lines with limited accessories and equipments. The socket and spigot ends are joined together or two spigot ends are joined with a double bell coupling. Elastomeric rubber rings that are positioned in circumferential grooves on the integrated socket and the coupling carry out the hydraulic sealing in this joint system. Since it cannot support longitudinal Forces, concrete thrust blocks are necessary where the direction changes.
The mechanical O-ring lock joint is a tensile resistant type of joint. The locking device, which provides longitudinal thrust restraint is inserted into a groove through an opening and can be removed to disassemble the joint at some later stage. Shear resistant plastic material is used for the locking strip.
This is a restrained type of joint and can be disassembled with ease without any damage. The flange joint connects appendages and equipment as well as other lines of different materials. Based on the application and pressure, several types are available. The following equipment and materials are necessary for a flange joint: Bolts, nuts, washers, a gasket, a torque wrench, and a ring spanner. Excessive misalignment may cause high stresses, which lead to premature material failure. In general, flange joints make piping connections easier and make it simple to assemble and disassemble piping systems.
Butt Fusion joint process is the most important and widely used method of connection for HDPE pipes. It is a method of jointing pipe ends by way of heating and cooling under pressure, resulting in pipe joints as strong as the pipe itself. The principle of butt fusion is to heat the pipe ends with heater plate to a designated temperature and pressure for a specified amount of time, then the pipe ends are fused together under pressure for a period of time.
Electrofusion is aneasy method of joining PE pipes in circumstances where butt fusion is not possible, such as above ground, repairing areas. An electrical heating coil which melts the plastic of both the fitting and the pipe, causing them to fuse together.
This methodology is adopted for the protection of the concrete Chambers, walls and tanks. The GRP in-situ lamination comes in various thicknesses and material specifications depending on the project requirements and Municipality standards.
It is an assembly of pipe and associated components that can be pre-fabricated as per drawing in the workshop or site as per the requirement.
